Have you ever felt paralyzed at the start of something new? Maybe unmotivated or even exhausted even before you begin?
Can I break this good news to youβyouβre not alone. But can I inform you that as far as you're a child of God, you donβt have to rely on yourself to begin. Godβs help is always available, ready to strengthen and guide you at every step of the way.
"Studies show that over 80% of people abandon their goals within the first month of starting. But with Godβs help, we have the access to a strength that never runs out."
Starting something new can feel overwhelmingβwhether itβs a new habit, a relationship, or a deeper walk with God. The truth is, we were never designed to do it alone. The Bible repeatedly reminds us that God's help is not just available but essential for every beginning.
"Apart from me, you can do nothing." β John 15:5
We often try to start new projects, relationships, or spiritual disciplines in our own strength. But Jesus reminds us that without Him, our efforts are futile. Acknowledging our dependence on God is the first step. When we try to begin anything in our own strength, frustration and failure often follow. Like a branch cannot thrive without the vine, we need to remain connected to God as our source of strength and wisdom.
Starting something new can feel daunting, but Godβs promise is clear: He will help us whenever we need His help, whether itβs in starting a business, a new spiritual habit, or stepping into an unfamiliar calling, His presence ensures we are never alone. βFear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." β Isaiah 41:10. This verse assures us that we donβt need to fear new beginnings. Godβs presence guarantees His help and strength. Whatever challenges you face as you start, His righteous hand upholds you.
God doesnβt just call us to begin; He equips us through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit provides clarity, encouragement, and guidance for every step. βBut the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you." β John 14:26. God doesnβt just help from afar; He gives us His Spirit to guide, comfort, and teach us. Whether youβre starting a new ministry, a daily prayer habit, or simply seeking clarity in life, the Holy Spirit is your divine Helper.
Prayer is essential when youβre embarking on a new journey. Proverbs 3:6ββIn all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." By surrendering your plans to God, you allow Him to direct your steps. We allow Him to shape them according to His will. Trusting Godβs wisdom often means letting go of control, knowing that His plans are always better than ours.
The Bible is your roadmap for any beginning. Godβs Word provides direction and strength. Meditating on His Word provides clarity, encouragement, and direction. Take time to seek answers and inspiration in Scripture as you move forward.
